Ted Samaras is an international cross cultural expert with more than 25 years experience in over a 100 countries. He is currently president of The World Strategies Group, a private consulting firm dedicated to assisting government, private sector firms, and non governmental organizations facilitate their business and transactions internationally. Current client projects include the resolve of the multi billion international softwood lumber trade dispute between governments of the USA and Canada, the worldwide positioning of a minority owed USA Environmental Engineering firm, the founding and launching of The International Academy of Municipalities which is a think tank and resource for small and medium cities and counties from around the world, and an advisor to the Gulf of Mexico States Accord Partnership which is comprised of the 5 states in the USA and 6 states in Mexico for the purposes of sharing information and working together on common goals as an emerging border alliance.
A particular area of interest for Mr. Samaras is social justice. Mr. Samaras is one of the founders of JurisAIDS; JurisAIDS is an international, non-profit organization with the mission to utilize the law to combat the stigma and discrimination that undermines the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS. It is a growing worldwide network of legal professionals, AIDS-related and human rights organizations, health and social development specialists, economic development specialists, businesspersons, community leaders and educators from the public and private sectors. JurisAIDS is committed to using the law to protect the freedom and dignity of, people living with HIV/AIDS and vulnerable groups most at risk of infection. He has served as the project director for the establishment of the first free walk-in legal clinic in Africa for people living with HIV/AIDS as well as the project director for creating the HIV/AIDS Model Law which is currently the basis for changing and/or strengthening the HIV/AIDS anti-discrimination laws in 18 countries in Africa.
Mr. Samaras and his family are lifelong residents of the Washington DC area where he has served on a number of boards and commissions dedicated to assisting impoverished people. He has studied the French, Spanish, German, and Greek languages which have allowed him to practice citizen diplomacy both in the United States and abroad.
Mr. Samaras has a BS in Marketing from the University of Maryland School of Business.
